Week 1 Simulado 1

Any doubts on the class or first simulado? Put them here.

Do you disagree with the gabarito, tell me why?

Maybe I made a mistake

Sir, regarding question 1.4, I was not convinced by the explanation you gave in class and I do not understand where it states that the presentation was poorly received by the audience.

“Meandering, mumbled, drunken tirade”, describe how it was difficult to understand.

““Oh, that is anti-liberal is good”. It was what of the blunt declarative statements that chopped up his speech”, suggests that the people believed his speech was good.

“This wouldn’t have been a problem if you were planning to pump your fist to white power music, but an academic lecture, and this one in particular, would require unusual mental focus to get through”, implies that pumping up his fist would have rallied the crowd, but his speech was too complex for that, it does not say that the audience received his speech poorly.

In my understanding his speech was complex and difficult to understand, but it is not clear that it was “poorly received”, in fact I interpret it as exactly the opposite, as although the audience did not fully comprehend his speech, they took well to it because it was “anti-liberal”.

I was wondering if you could further explain why the answer is E and not C.

Just FYI, I do not know how to change my name on this forum, but my name is Artur Ferreira, I watched your class today

P.S. Managed to do so.

I agree it is doubtful Artur. I thought about this again after our class. I think I need to make this adjective ‘poorly received’ a bit clearer, maybe it was poor choice of question as I am trying to make them difficult. We will ‘anul’ this one.
